UCL & WEISS Operative Birth Projects

Our Founder was asked to be Lay Chair Lead for the UCL & Weiss Operative Birth Parent Involvement Group.

The Operative Birth Parents Involvement Group supports and informs the development of UCL & WEISS research projects investigating surgical and interventional approaches to make birth safer and to improve outcomes for birthing parents and babies.

Our research projects are developing technologies for better outcomes and care during operative birth (which means any birth requiring extra help, such as with c-section, ventouse or forceps).

The Parents Involvement Group are a group of parents with recent lived experience of operative births. Working closely with UCL & WEISS researchers and our public engagement leads, the group learn about the different research projects and are asked for their feedback to help shape our research. This helps our team of researchers to develop technologies based on people’s experiences, enabling us to design better research and treatments.
